One of my issues with same sex marriage is that I believe that marriage is a sacred union between a man and a women.  It has been a religious belief of mine but it is also a fundamental belief I have that has existed in society for centuries.  I feel the union of man and woman through marriage is a strong social commitment, a spiritual union, a financial merger, a mental allegiance, a religious ordination recognized by God, and a joint effort to birth and raise kids in an environment that nature intended .  I believe the very definition of marriage contradicts same sex marriage.  Same sex couples are changing the definition of marriage.  I am interested to know the reasons and motivations for this.  

This said I believe that nobody should be treated with contempt no matter what sexual preference they are. I have met several gays who have been very pleasant and kind doing what they feel is best to contribute to society.  I don’t dislike somebody just because they are different.  I am against the actions that I feel are immoral and contrary to the fundamentals of society.  I feel very strongly in the way I do, but I do my best to treat everybody I can with kindness and with an open mind.  I have been to a lot of weddings over the years, and the recent  events around gay marriage have sparked a desire in me to share with the world what I feel.  I hope you have that same desire to share the things you feel are right with me on this blog.
